White Buff Militia Waist Belt. 2" wide
with a fixed buff leather sword frog and a silver plated panel belt plate
59 x 84 mm having the spread wing eagle with a star on the shield (O&C
#407), circa 1845-1860. Very good leather, excellent plate. The leather,
with some soiling, is complete, supple, and without cracks while almost
all the silver remains on the untouched belt plate. Ex. George
Keggereis collection. |

there is a mellow patina on the belt plate. |

Cavalry Link Strap.
Here's another unusual find. These were used to hook horses together
when one trouper was assigned to hold four during dismounted combat.
Period correct in every detail. I have later ones too and the
differences are obvious. Very good condition with some bridal
leather flaking. |

flat brass hook. Is broken clean through about 12" from the
hook end. Otherwise the leather is still strong and supple. If
your good at leather stitching, you can have a real one that will show
well for less than half of what these are going for. |
